Evgeniya Martirosyan is an Irish based artist with a background in philosophy and design. She has have successfully completed a BA honors in Fine Art (1.1) in 2016 at Crawford College of Art and Design. Her degree show had a great response from viewers, generating interest from galleries and institutions. Following the show she was awarded a number of residencies and awards: Sample Studios Residency Award , the National Sculpture Factory Residency and Mentorship Award, Cork Film Centre Exhibition Award, Lavit Gallery Fledglings exhibition award and Eli Lilly Purchase prize.
Since graduating Evgeniya received an individual bursary award from Cork City Art Council and also from Art Council Ireland. Her most recent work has been exhibited with TACTIC gallery ‘Forward Looking, Looking Back now’ (2016) show and with 126 Galley, Galway ‘Brainchild’ (2017) show.
Evgeniya is currently engaged in the Cork Arts Support Team (CAST) Artist-in-Studio Scheme. This Scheme is designed to support emerging artists by giving them freedom to focus on developing their practice. Working primarily in the medium of sculpture and installation Evgeniya is at the moment focusing on developing a new body of work for her upcoming solo exhibition in TACTIC Gallery, Cork.
